Study Abroad

The American Studies Curriculum urges all its students to plan for a study abroad semester.  Those of us who look closely at our own culture can benefit especially from living and working in another culture.  And a study abroad experience can be integrated with your major if you choose a study abroad program at one of our partner institutions where you can study American Studies from “outside the box.”  You will receive credit for some of your major courses, will study in English, and will learn alongside international students. Your work can help you prepare for a senior honors thesis and expand your options for study.  Most importantly, you will live in another country and experience a different culture.

Please see the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Professor Timothy Marr, or the Chair, Professor Joy Kasson, for more information.

Here is a list of partner institutions we urge you to consider.  The links will take you to the Study Abroad website where you can explore each option more thoroughly.
